Register / Sign in to My NCBI Account

Create a My NCBI Account

  • Go to My NCBI to register
  • OR choose the "My NCBI" link on the top right corner of PubMed

My NCBI

My NCBI enables you to save citations and searches permanently, and to personalize PubMed (and other NCBI databases) to better manage your search results.

  • Collections: Use the Send to drop down menu in PubMed to save citations to a My NCBI collection that you can return to later, download, email, or share with colleagues.
  • Save Search: To save your search strategy or rerun a search in the future (to keep up with new articles on your research topic), click the Save Search link below the PubMed query box on the search results page.  Use the Saved Search Settings to have PubMed email you new results of your search daily, weekly or monthly.
  • Filters: Customize PubMed search results pages with Filters that you use often, e.g. "Systematic Review" or "Core Clinical Journals". 
  • My NCBI preferences includes storing and changing your e-mail address, highlighting search terms, opening the abstract display supplemental data by default, and turning off the auto suggest feature.

Register/ Sign in to Ovid My Account

Create an Ovid "My Account"

  • Go to Weill Cornell Medicine Library homepage. Select "E-Resources" tab in the search box and search for "Ovid".
  • Choose "My Account" on the top right of Ovid platform 
  • Click on "Create a New Personal Account" and complete the form.  Personal Account name and password are case-sensitive.

Like My NCBI, Ovid's My Account enables you to save citations and searches permanently.  Once you create a Personal Account, you can:  

  • save Searchesunlimited number of search histories and search alerts,
  • add annotations: to citations, and 
  • utilize My Space.

My Workspace


My Workspace is a resource management and organization tool.

  • My Projects: You can set up multiple projects and folders.  To save citations and add those to a collection check the box next to the article title and select Add to My Projects.
  • My Searchers & Alerts: At the Search Page, select the search you would like to save and click Save Selected.  Name your search and choose a search type: 
    • Temporary
    • Permanent
    • AutoAlert
    • My Projects
  • My eTocs: From the Journal A-Z list, you can subscribe to electronic table of content delivery
  • Ovid Toolbar: allows you to collect resources from external sites and save them to My Projects
  • Citations: citation can be manually created and placed in a project or folder by choosing the Actions button and then Create Citation
  • Output Options: Items from My Projects can be printed, emailed or exported.
