Welcome to the Book Club LibGuide for "Medical Bondage: Race, Gender, and the Origins of American Gynecology" by Dr. Deirdre Cooper Owens.

Join members of the Weill Cornell community for a discussion about the historical inequities in women's reproductive health on April 27, 2021 from 1:00-2:00 PM. Reading the book (which is available as a free download) is encouraged but not required! The book club is hosted by the Medical Center Archives of NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine, Samuel J. Wood Library, and Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and is open to all members of the Tri-Institutional partnership. Registration for the book club is available here.

The book club on April 27 is intended to serve as a kick-off event for Dr. Cooper Owens's Heberden Society lecture on April 28th at 5:00 PM. Separate registration for her lecture is available here.
